At Cairns Counselling we offer best service possible in order to help people dealing with a wide range of issues. Our aim is to ensure you are given the ability to deal with problematic situations you may find in your life. If you feel like you may benefit from talking to one of our trained counsellors please contact us by phone or our contact form.
Counselling is a situation of confidentiality and trust between you as a Client and your Counsellor.
We take confidentiality seriously and every care is taken to ensure that your details are secure.
Cairns offers a variety of Counselling approaches and it is important to note that one approach is not better than another; what is important is that you feel comfortable with your Counsellor to talk through your issues.
We follow the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics (BACP) and provide regular supervision for all counsellors to ensure clients receive a safe and professional service.
Cairns will not offer counselling to clients whom we believe are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Referrals can be made through a GP or other professional body but this is not essential. In fact most people contact us directly and refer themself. Cairns provide a safe and confidential environment within which counsellors and clients work towards developing a theraputic relationship.
There are situations where confidentiality may have to be breached. These are:
In situations where there may be risks, we have a responsibility to share our concerns with your GP or with Adult/Child Protection Services. In all situations where your confidentiality is concerned this will be discussed with you wherever possible.
